Nye County, NV Moves Quickly to Support Economic Recovery and Offset COVID-Related Impact with OpenGov

United States, California, Redwood City – 09-22-2020 (PRDistribution.com) — To maintain the health of the county economy and its residents’ wellbeing, Nye County is planning for the prompt and orderly distribution of federal and state funds to support businesses and residents using OpenGov.

“Businesses and jobs are ailing from the pandemic,” said John Koenig, chair of the Board of County Commissioners. “The County is planning for a prompt dispersal to ensure that businesses can stay open, and people can stay in their homes to keep us all on the road to economic recovery.” To that end, the County has adopted OpenGov’s Permitting, Licensing, and Code Enforcement suite to ensure compliance and enable internal teams to move quickly to get taxpayers needed relief checks. The County will distribute nearly $8.5M to those impacted financially from the pandemic by reimbursing costs incurred during the period of March 16, 2020, through December 30, 2020, due to the public health emergency and renters who can show delinquency from March to the present. “We are all in this together,” said Samantha Kramer, County Grants Administrator. “Helping businesses get back on their feet and keeping people in their homes through this period of uncertainty will protect the County from a greater downturn in the long run.”OpenGov Vice President Claudia Arriaga shared, “we are thrilled to support Nye County with workflow technology that enables the efficient and effective distribution of funds to their communities. Nye County joins dozens of leading cities and counties using OpenGov’s Permitting, Licensing, and Code Enforcement suite to reactivate their economies and protect their most vulnerable residents.”  About OpenGovOpenGov is the leader in providing our nation’s state agencies and local governments with modern cloud software to help power more effective and accountable government.  Built exclusively for the unique budgeting, financial, and community development needs of the public sector, OpenGov solutions help our more than 1,000 customers plan effectively, increase efficiency, and improve engagement through better collaboration and transparency.

About the Author: Carrie Brunner

Carrie Brunner grew up in a small town in northern New Brunswick. She studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married her husband one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children. Carrie writes mostly on provincial stories.
