Cybersecurity firm inBay Technologies expands its Board of Directors, links to Silicon Valley.

OTTAWA, Ontario

inBay Technologies, developers of ‘passwordless’ authentication solutions, today announced that Dr. Paul Russo and James Nguyen joined its Board of Directors. The board is led by David Mann who shares a Nortel Networks background with co-founders and directors Stan Xavier and Randy Kuang. Director Peter Nadeau formerly of Newbridge Networks, founded by Sir Terrence Mathews and acquired by Alcatel, rounds up the bench.

“I’m thrilled to announce that we have Paul and James joining our board as directors,” said Shane Young, President & CEO of inBay Technologies. “Both Paul and James bring the strength of their diverse experience and networks to inBay. This will help us in our efforts to accelerate the commercialization of our idQ® Trust as a Service digital identity platform that delivers new value to enterprise customers with the first and only digital identity that cannot be stolen.”

James Nguyen, Partner, Tongda One Partners Ltd. represents an Ottawa-based super angel who co-led the $1M+ financing round that inBay announced in September. Paul Russo is the founder and Chairman of the Silicon Valley based GEO Semiconductor, and a director of SnapDNA, Teslonix, WOO Sports, and several other startups, including Peekaboo and Dynamount. He is a member of the Band of Angels, an angel investor group in Menlo Park, California, and is an advisor to several institutional investment entities.

“I am delighted to be joining inBay as a board member,” said Paul Russo. “Today’s enterprises are increasingly concerned about security. Hackers are stealing private employee or customer data, as well as proprietary technology. inBay’s powerful and patented cybersecurity technology offers a disruptive solution where no information is permanently stored and, thus, cannot be hacked! I look forward to doing my part in ensuring inBay’s success.”

About the Author: Carrie Brunner

Carrie Brunner grew up in a small town in northern New Brunswick. She studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married her husband one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children. Carrie writes mostly on provincial stories.
