Sydney Australia, Today venture builder and investor Black Nova Group announced it’s taken an equity stake in Me Squared, a health tech startup that has its sights set on disrupting the $50 billion corporate wellness industry.

Matthew Browne, Chief Investment Officer at Black Nova Group, and serial founder of iconic startups Donesafe and Whispli said “we’re very excited to be investing in Me Squared. This is the future of personal health, where both employers and employees stand to benefit immensely from a personalised health coach in their pocket”. When asked about the deal he said “As a venture builder we’re going to work closely with the Me Squared team to take their core technology and scale it onto the global playing field. Our vision is to help the greatest number of people in their daily lives where there’s a clear commercial case to do so – corporate wellness”.

Me Squared’s Mission

Me Squared’s mission is to help people become the healthiest versions of themselves by creating lasting changes in their daily lives.

Empowering People to Use Their Personal Health Data

Me squared is an application that combines both technology with cognitive behavioural therapy, delivering a personalised and holistic health coaching experience to the user.

It’s core technology is designed to log, track and uncover a person’s health habits, collecting nutrition, exercise and general health data. Once the technology understands it’s user it’s able to deliver smart messages which are personalised to the user’s experience. For example, if you are worried about your family history of diabetes the app will track your sugar consumption, notify you when daily limits are higher than normal and provide substitute foods to help you stay on track.

Scientific advisor Prof. Ralf Schwarzer commented, “we realised we can really help people develop a sense of self efficacy. We achieve this by combining positive reinforcement with accountability and intelligently timed triggers which are all personalised to the user’s needs. This means we’re able to influence long term behavioural change and help people achieve better outcomes for their health and well being”.

Current Health Tech Solutions Aren’t Working Smart Enough

Fabian Di Marco Founder and CEO of Me Squared said “current health solutions in market aren’t working smart enough to deliver results for their users. We are all individuals and it’s time we had a personalised intelligent solution. Whether you’re a performance athlete or a person suffering from type 2 diabetes, the Me Squared app delivers a personalised health experience to you and works in sync with your coach, doctor and wider healthcare professionals”.

So far the results speak for themselves, the platform is achieving an 85% adherence rate to health plans, compared to the industry average of 40%.

Moving Into The $50 Billion Corporate Wellness Space

The team’s strategic vision is to move into the corporate workplace, an estimated $50 billion market, where both employers and employees stand to benefit from a healthier, more productive workplace.

In addition to this, on the horizon Me Squared has applications which are far reaching into the world health and medical spaces. It’s solution works in tandem with medical professionals for nutrition, obesity and type 2 diabetes.
