Merry-Achi Christmas Concert is Coming to Town on Friday, November 24

CHICAGO, IL – 10-13-2017 (Press Release Jet) — The Mariachi Institute of Chicago presents the second annual and only holiday mariachi concert in Chicago and the Midwest, “A Merry-Achi Christmas Concert”. Celebrate Mexico’s authentic and vibrant sounds of traditional Christmas music Friday, November 24 at the majestic Copernicus Center with the headliner, Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández. This spectacular all-age concert includes special presentations by the youth ensembles of the Mariachi Institute of Chicago and Mariachi Embajador de México.

“This year, we are delighted to have the Merry-Achi Christmas Concert right after Thanksgiving,” says Dr. Blanca Murillo, founder of the Mariachi Institute of Chicago. “We invite family and friends to create a new tradition and celebrate this special time of year with their families experiencing holiday tunes through mariachi music.”   

The three-hour mariachi performance includes traditional Mexican tunes, “posada” songs, medley interpretations from the Nutcracker to Joy to the World, and the familiar classics like Jingle Bells and White Christmas. A visit from the man in a red suit will make a special appearance as part of the concert festivities.
