Press Release updated: Oct 27, 2017 17:12 EDT

VI ASAP RELIEF GROUP and USVI business owners have flown much-needed relief aid to the islands. Bill Perkins of BrisaMax Holdings, LLC donated nearly 600 generators, tarps, emergency medical supplies, chainsaws, and purchased vehicles for nonprofits on the island so they can better distribute the aid to the USVI community. My Brothers Workshop, and Tony Rosario of USVI Boxing with the help of Jody Olson have been working around the clock to get these items as well as a large sum of cash Mr. Perkins has allowed them to use at their discretion to those families and businesses most in need within the community, including the Montessori School. BrisaMax Holdings, LLC also assisted Hands.org with transporting much-needed construction equipment for cleanup & rebuilding St. Thomas.

Mr. Richard Fisherman, a longtime St. Thomas family, through Rhianna’s Carla Lionel Foundation donated 1,000 Luci Lights created by MPOWERD, Inc. 800 lbs. of baby formula, baby food, diapers, and canned food were donated by Trusted World and flown to St. Thomas by USVI businesses Ferrer, LLC & By-the-Sea Resorts, LLC. The solar lights and baby supplies were given to The St. Thomas Reformed Church and My Brothers Workshop for distribution to the community. VI ASAP Relief Group also sponsored numerous shipments of relief aid and medical supplies for the VI Association DC and ULCA donation drive. Glen Carty, Founder of VI ASAP Relief Group said, “We have been happy to donate and coordinate the delivery of the much-needed generators, solar lights, and supplies. The ability to refrigerate food and medicine will go a long way. We look forward to rebuilding a stronger and more storm-ready community.” The relief aid and supplies were distributed to the Family Resource Center. Standard Aviation, St. Thomas’ newest FBO assisted with both flights.

About the Author: Carrie Brunner

Carrie Brunner grew up in a small town in northern New Brunswick. She studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married her husband one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children. Carrie writes mostly on provincial stories.
